Lo Ana Gentile
1933 - 2013
Lo Ana Gentile, 80, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at her home.
Born Feb. 11, 1933, in La Crosse, Wis., she was the daughter of the late Julian and Hilder (Tollackson) Torgerson. She graduated from Central High School in 1951 and moved to Kenosha shortly after.
On June 2, 1956, she married Aldo Gentile at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.
She worked as a dental assistant in La Crosse for two years and in Kenosha, she worked at Coopers International in the office for five years; then worked as a teacher in both Nursery School and Kindergarten for sixteen years. She used her artistic skills daily and loved being with children.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Lo Ana enjoyed the changing seasons of Wisconsin and walked daily outdoors when the weather permitted. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, swimming and was a Green Bay Packer fan. After retiring, Lo Ana and Aldo traveled often, visiting their daughters in Texas and California; and always stopping at Las Vegas along the way.
Survivors include the love of her life, her husband, Aldo; her two daughters, Cynthia (Dane) Stanley of San Francisco, Calif., and Theresa (Jeff) Novelen of Dallas, Tex.; her son, Michael (Barb) Gentile of Downers Grove, Ill.; one sister, Charlene (Jerome) Gundersen of La Crosse, Wis.; one brother, Tyrone Torgerson of Black River Falls, Wis.; and four grandchildren, Ryan, Rachel, Jason and Luke.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rochelle Frandle and a brother Ted Torgerson.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at
11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 1919 54th Street. Entombment will take place in All Saints Mausoleum. A visitation for Lou will be held at the church on Wednesday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to Hospice Alliance, Inc. 10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd., Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158, would be appreciated by the family.
