Patricia M. Patty Merletti
1967 - 2013
Patricia M. Patty Merletti, 45, of Kenosha, passed away following a courageous battle with breast cancer
on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Ill.
Born on Sept. 14, 1967, in Lake Forest, Ill., she was the daughter of George J. and Patricia Anne (Ryan) Dunn. Patty was educated in Illinois and received her BS from Marquette University.
On April 13, 1996, she was united in marriage to Robert Merletti.
Patty was employed for a few years with KUSD as a substitute teacher and spent a year teaching art at Dimensions of Learning.
Patty enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially at their summer home in Lake Geneva. She was a proud mother and loved to support her daughters by participating in their activities. Patty was an avid reader, especially Stephen King and anything Harry Potter. She was always the last one off the dance floor at weddings. During her struggle, Patty found the strength to author her own book entitled LOL, Patty. Always positive, Patty had a weakness for ice cream and anything chocolate.
Patty will be deeply missed by her husband, Robert; their two children, Raney and Rebecca Becca Merletti both of Kenosha; her father, George Knute Dunn of Aurora, Ill.; seven siblings, Budd (Lisa) Dunn of Johnsburg, Ill., Eileen Dunn of Wheaton, Ill., Linda (Scott) Dunn-Jensen of Bloomington, Ind., Jimee (Kristin) Dunn, Larry (Sharon) Dunn both of Chicago, Ill., Ryan (Sue) Dunn of Lakemore, Ill., and Katy Dunn of Chicago.
Patty was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Dunn; two brothers, Kevin and Stephen Dunn and a sister-in-law, Soledad Dunn.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at
10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 22333 W. Erhart Rd, Mundelein, IL 60060. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church for the Mass. Interment will follow in St. Mary of the Annunciation Cemetery.
