Peter Martin Jansen
1932 - 2013
Peter Martin Jansen, 81, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee.
He was born on Sept. 27, 1932, to the late Martin and Jeannette (Hamelink) Jansen in Kenosha. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha.
On April 24, 1952 he entered the U.S. Navy
and was honorably discharged on April 23, 1956.
Peter married Alice Ann Bosman on May 18, 1957 at Kenosha Christian Reformed Church.
Peter worked as a machinist for American Brass for 47 years, retiring on July 31, 1999.
Peter was a life-long member of Kenosha Christian Reformed Church where he served as a deacon, elder, cadet leader and girls softball coach. For 20 years he served as site manager of the INNS program at Kenosha Christian Reformed Church with his wife. He was also a Little League coach for several years.
As a young man, Peter played fast-pitch softball. He enjoyed fishing, reading, photography, classic and model cars. He was an avid fan of all Wisconsin sports.
Peter is survived by his loving wife, Alice; his loving children, Bradley (Sally) Jansen, Brian (Janice) Jansen, Kathy (Giovanni) Jansen-Buciuni and Kristy (Bill) Widmar all of Kenosha, his grandchildren Katlynn, Leah, Katrina, Benjamin and Brock and great grandson Brayden.
Private funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, with Full Military Honors at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Spinal Cord Injury Unit for the loving and compassionate care given to Peter over the last year.
