1940 - 2014
Rita Ianni, 74, a resident of Kenosha, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Rita was born March 1, 1940, in Kenosha, Wis., to John and Ida Schultz; she was united in marriage to Redo Ianni.
Rita was a strong, nurturing and loving person that gave more than she received. With the passing of her husband Redo in 1972, Ritas world would never be the same as she became the sole provider to raise three young boys. Her ability to nurture baby robins that fell from their nest, to her endurance, love and guidance she provided while raising her three children is a testament to Ritas courage and love she provided to so many.
Rita was an avid bowler winning the Kenosha News 1977 womens championship. She loved to spend time tending to her garden, cheering for the Cubs and Bears, plus cooking and baking for friends and family. Rita worked and retired from Brookside Care Center in 1997 and enjoyed her retirement with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. Gram, as she was called by her grandchildren, will remain in all of our hearts; her smile and love will live on
Rita is survived by her husband Robert of Kenosha; and by her three sons, Jon Ianni, Frank Ianni, and Dino Ianni. She also survived by her grandchildren, Jayme Ianni, Redo Ianni and Payton Ianni, plus her two great grandchildren, Kasey Fleming and Kamren Fleming.
Rita was preceeded in death by her father, John Schultz; mother, Ida Schultz; brother, Judge Joseph Schultz; and husband, Redo Phillip Ianni.
A brief funeral service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014, at Holy Nativity Lutheran Church (2313-17th Ave) at 7 p.m. A time to visit with the family will take place at the church from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.
