Arlene Rose Cooper

1934 - 2018

Mrs. Arlene Cooper, 83, passed away peacefully at The Villa at Lincoln Park nursing home on Wednesday, July 11, 2018.

She was born on Dec. 23, 1934, in Kenosha, Wis., the daughter of the late Louis and Aquiline (nee: Greco) Russo. On Dec. 29, 1956, she was united in marriage to Walter G. Cooper at St. Lucy Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2017.

While raising her six boys, she was an active volunteer at St. Lucy Church and School. She worked on numerous committees in various positions including President of the St. Lucy Altar Society and President of the Athletic Association. She was also a Prayer Warrior at daily Mass and for the Rosary. Once all the boys were in school, she worked at St. Lucy School in the kitchen as a cook and the lunch program co-manager for 20 years. Arlene was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and attended many games. She loved to cook Italian food and always had a seat at the table for you. Arlene loved to create numerous beautiful needlepoint towels and table clothes and loved collecting Mickey Mouse items. She also was very supportive of her husband's involvement as a charter member of the Kiwanis Club of West Racine volunteering hundreds of hours in support of its charitable efforts.

Surviving are her children Tom (Kim) Cooper of Oshkosh, Wis., Jeff (Sue) Cooper of Kenosha, Wis., Robert (Debby) Cooper of Racine, Wis., Mark (Jeri) Cooper of Tomahawk, Wis., Greg (Marianne) Cooper of Racine, Wis.; grandchildren, Michael (Samantha) Cooper of Mokena, Ill. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her son Gerry, her parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law June and John Cooper, sister-in-law Betty Russo and brothers-in-law Jack Cooper and Clarence Cramer.

We want to give a special thanks to Bethany of Seasons Hospice and Corine DeGroot for their compassionate care for our Mother.
