Betty Carolyn Gibson, 68, of Kenosha, Wis., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at her home.
She was born Dec. 2, 1945, in San Pablo, Calif., the daughter of the late Samuel Woodrow Webb and Mary Ruth (Jones) Menees. Betty has lived in Kenosha for over 50 years, and enjoyed crocheting and reading. She was an avid facebooker, loving the games and friends that came along with it. Betty espcieally cherished the time she spent with her family; they meant everything to her and there wasnt a thing she wouldnt do for them. She retired after 30 years of working in the press room at American Motors Corporation (Chrysler). On April 14, 1990, she married David Paul Gibson.
Survivors include her husband, Paul; her children, Trudy Mason of Algoma, Wis., Mary Jane (Jeffrey) Chopp of Salem, Wis., Denise (Todd) Morris of Missouri, Donna (John) Dioszengi of Kenosha, and Larry Gibson of Kenosha; her grandchildren, Christopher, Heather, Robert, Danielle, Colin, Brenna; several step grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; her siblings, Elizabeth Bottoms, Mary (Walton) Hammock, and Richard Webb, all of Alabama; and her beloved baby Grizzly Bear. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Baldwin.
The family would also like to extend their gratitude for the caring nurses, especially Dana and May; as well as her wonderful friend, Hattie Jones.
A memorial visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) Antioch, IL. Interment will be private. INFO 847-395-4000.
