Constance "Connie" Machara

1927 - 2018

Constance "Connie" Machara, a longtime resident of Kenosha, passed away peacefully into the arms of God on Monday, May 14, at St Josephs Home and Rehabilitation Center. She lived well and was loved for 90 years!

Connie was born on Aug. 15, 1927, in Kenosha, the daughter of the late Andrew and Valeria (Jardinski) Bugalecki. Connie was educated in the schools of Kenosha, graduating from Bradford High School. She married George Machara on Oct. 8, 1949, in Kenosha. Connie was employed as an RN at AMC and Dynamatic before retiring. Her hobbies included reading, doing word search and jigsaw puzzles, playing cribbage and cards with family and participating in activities while at St. Joseph's, her favorite being Bingo. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Affectionately referred to as "Cookie Grandma" by all of her grandchildren, Connie also loved to spoil her family with treats. She was an incredible mother and grandmother and spent her entire life ensuring her children and grandchildren were well taken care of. It is no wonder that God chose to honor her memory and reunite her with her husband of 55 years, George, right after celebrating one last Mothers Day.

Connie will be deeply missed by her children, Joe (Karen), Valerie, and Fran (Larry), her grandchildren Julie, Adam (Jeanette), Denny (Tiffani), Connie (Mike), and Amanda, and her great- grandchildren Zachary, Chloe, Jade, Gavin, Valerie, William, and Olivia.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband George, she was preceded in death by her six brothers, Harold, Donald, Leonard, Thaddeus, Aloysius and Henry, sister, Doris; stepsisters, Laura and Victoria, also a stepbrother, John.

Our family wants to give a special thank you to St. Josephs Home and Rehabilitation Center for all of their loving care during her stay there.

A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday May 17, 2018, at Kenosha Funeral Services from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. with services to following immediately at 5 p.m.
