Juel Louis Alderson

1926 - 2014

Juel Louis Alderson, 88, of Union Grove, passed away Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at his home.

Born in Salem, Wis., on March 7, 1926, he was the son of Louis T. Alderson and Henrietta D. (nee Hennings) Wilson. He spent his early life in Oakville, Iowa, where he attended school.

He proudly served in the Navy during World War II. He enlisted in April 1943 and was assigned to a naval repair unit and served in the Pacific Theatre which included New Guinea and the Philippines. He received the rank of Seaman First Class with an honorable discharge in December 1945.

On July 17, 1962, Louis was united in marriage to Beatrice Ann Asmann. They have lived in the Union Grove area for over 50 years.

Louis worked for Young Radiator; loved to go fishing with his boys; enjoyed car shows and flea markets and loved working with his hands on any project he could find.

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice; sons, Jeff (Shelly) Alderson and Rob (Debbie) Alderson; grandchildren, Jerod Alderson, Calaway Alderson and Rani McClendon. He is also survived by his siblings, Thomas Alderson, Jennie (Paul) Gustison and Warren (Patsy) Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Susan McClendon; a brother, Valdo Sonny Alderson and a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Alderson.

Services for Louis will be Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. at Polnasek-Daniels Funeral Home with Rev. Sue Leih officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 4, at the Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Burial will be at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery on Friday, Sept. 5, at 11 a.m.
