Lillian Gizella Gureczny
1925 - 2014
Lillian Gizella Gureczny, 88, of Trevor, Wis., passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Manor Care in Kenosha. She was born Nov. 21, 1925, the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Meliska) Glemba. Lillian was born and raised in Chicago, Ill., where she met Edward Gureczny and they married on Sept. 20, 1947. Edward preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 1982. In 1964 they moved to Trevor, Wis., and purchased and operated Lill and Eds Tavern for 26 years. She then owned and operated the Bristol Oasis for several years before moving to Prentice, Wis. Lillian moved back to Trevor in 2008. Lillian loved the Chicago Cubs, enjoyed gambling, and spending time with family.
Lillian is survived by her son, Wayne (Penny) Gureczny, Trevor, Wis.; four grandchildren, Andrea, Brian, Heather (Gene), and Tony (Cheri); six great-grandchildren, and four nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Lillian was preceded in death by her son, Edward Gureczny, Jr.; her three sisters, Helen Glemba, Margaret Chrusciel, and Millie Glemba; and her grandson, Edward Gureczny III.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main Street (Rte. 83), Antioch, IL 60002. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will immediately follow in Liberty Cemetery, Salem Township, WI. For additional info call 847-395-4000.
