Rosalee Mary Lueck

1933 - 2018

Rosalee Mary (Lanctot) (Wamboldt) Lueck, 84, of Monona Wis. passed from this earth May 17, 2018, after a long illness ending in vascular dementia.

Born in Kenosha, July 15, 1933, to Lawrence and Ann (Polick) Lanctot. Rosalee was raised in Kenosha and educated at St James, Mary D. Bradford, and Gateway Technical College with a degree in nursing.

On February 27, 1954 Rosalee married Jacob F. Wamboldt. He preceded her in death August 10, 1958.

On April 1, 1967 Rosalee married Ronald W. Lueck at St James Catholic Church in Kenosha. They celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 2017 with a gathering of family and friends in Kenosha.

Over the course of her life, Rosalee worked at Jockey Int'l and Kenosha Memorial Hospital as an RN. She retired from nursing to raise her two youngest children. Rosalee eventually returned to the workplace working at a number of retail stores. She spent fun filled years working at Marshall Fields and more recently volunteered at the Kenosha Memorial gift shop. Alongside her husband Ron, Rosalee enjoyed volunteering at Kemper Center, Anderson Art Center, Shalom Center, and were active members of St. Anne Catholic Church.

Rosalee loved her family, her faith, gardening, travel, murder mysteries, opera and British dramas. She was a joyous, generous, loving soul, whose bright light was dimmed by her illness, yet she still was able to giggle until close to the end. Her generosity of spirit is exemplified by her selfless donation of her remains to the UW Medical School to help educate future physicians.

Rosalee is survived by her husband Ronald, her sons Frederick Wamboldt (Marianne), Bruce Wamboldt, daughters Beth Lueck (Thomas Bailey) and Carolyn Lueck (Goran Yordanoff), brother, Lawrence Lanctot, Jr. (the late Bernadette) and sister, Sandra Parr (Bernard). She was the proud grandmother of Krystyna (Blaise Treeson), Alexander (Zohar Gilboa), Jaclyn, and Eric Wamboldt.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Alice Ann (Ruvaldt), Derreld, Thomas, William, James and Loretta.

Special thanks to the people who helped ease her last days at Heritage Monona, University of Wisconsin Hospital, Stoughton Hospital and the extraordinary staff and many volunteers of Agrace Hospice. Our family is forever indebted to your kindness.

Rosalee's life will be celebrated June 30, at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 9091 Prairie Ridge Blvd, Pleasant Prairie WI, with Fr. Don Thimm as special celebrant. Service at 10:30 a.m., with a luncheon following in the church hall immediately after the service until 3 p.m. All who knew her are welcome.
