Rosina Serpe

1924 - 2013

Rosina Serpe, 89, of Kenosha, passed away on April 5, 2013 at United Hospital System, Kenosha Campus, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Marano Marchesto Cosenza Italy on Feb. 2, 1924, a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Vincenza Ruffolo Morrone.

On Feb. 12, 1950, she married Frank J. Serpe in Italy and moved to Kenosha in May of 1951. Frank preceded her in death on March 19, 1987.

Rosina and Frank were members of St. Marks Catholic Church. She loved cooking for her family and friends and spending lots of time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mom embraced everyone with love and a smile, Her motto was Peace, Love and Family.

She is survived by her four children: Rose (Michael) Carlsen, Chancy (Steve) Spieker, Linda (Joseph) Miller and one son, George (Carole) Serpe all of Kenosha, Six grandchildren: Lisa(Rick Nelson) Carlsen, Jenny (Brian) Crane, Scott Spieker, Maureen (Chris) Bakk, Emily Miller and Vincente Miller, two great grandchildren: Breanna Crane and Brandon Crane, one brother Faustino (Nelina) Morrone of Italy. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, Luigi (Emma) Morrone and Peter (Nancy) Morrone.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Joe Garretto and his staff and Brookside Nursing Home and staff for the wonderful care given to our mother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Rosina at St. Marks Catholic Church on Wednesday April 10, at

1 p.m. A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery.
