Dino Dominici

1931 - 2014

Dino Dominici, 82, beloved husband of the late Grace Dominici, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, Feb. 14, 2014.

Dino and his wife, Grace, are best known as long time owners of Dinos Restaurant in Racine who retired the business in July 2013 after operating it for 58 years.

Dino was born in Rosaria, fraction of Ascoli Piceno Italy, on July 21, 1931, to the late Petro and Rosalie (ne: Ticchiarelli) Dominici. He came to the United States in 1948 and proudly served his newly adopted country during the Korean Conflict where is first discovered his passion for the kitchen and cooking, but not before graduating from Washington Park High School in 1950. Six years later, on April 24, 1954, he married the love of his life Grace, also from Italy, at Holy Rosary Church Kenosha.

Surviving Dino are his children, Rosalie (Jim) Ferderer of Racine; Vivian (Leopoldo Sacripanti) Dominici of Fano, Italy; and Peter A. Dominici of Racine; grandchildren, Michael J., David J., and Amanda Rose Ferderer, Michelle and Jacqueline Sacripanti, Nika M. and Dino J. Dominici; and his only brother, Leonardo Dominici living in Fano, Italy. Also survived by many dear friends, employees and customers .

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Richard of Chichester Catholic Church, 1503 Grand Ave. in Racine, on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at 11 a.m. Entombment, with military honors, will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. (Roma Lodge ritual offered at 6 p.m.) and in the church Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. In memory of Dino, memorials to St. Richards Parish or to the Dominici family have been suggested.
