Irene G. Aiello
Irene G. Aiello, 87, of Kenosha, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on May 19, 1926, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Stella (Zawadzki) Rewinski. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she attended local schools and was a graduate of Kenosha High School.
On Sept. 3, 1949, Irene was united in marriage to Joseph M. Aiello. They were blessed with four children and 62 years of marriage, before he passed away on May 10, 2012.
Irene cared for her family while also working part-time with Kuzik Brothers for several years and later with K-Mart for 18 years. Over the years, she assisted her husband with his business, Aiello & Son Mobil, as a bookkeeper.
She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and the Polish National Alliance. Irene loved staying active and enjoyed biking, traveling, travelogues and attending concerts at the band shell. She also found time to read, knit and make arts and crafts. Her favorite memories were made spending time with her grandchildren. Irene had compassion for animals and generously contributed to several animal charities.
Irene will be deeply missed by her four children, Peter Aiello, Nancy J. Cairo, John J. Aiello and Marilyn I. (James) Siedjak; a sister, Stephanye Nichi and three grandchildren, Joseph and Jason Cairo and Jennifer Siedjak.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Vincent Siedjak.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 2223 51st Street. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at church for the Mass. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum. A visitation for Irene will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 until 7 p.m.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Mitchell Ziarko, Hospice Alliance and all of the in-home care givers for the special care they provided to Irene.
