Floyd C. Gyger
Floyd C. Gyger, Jr., 85, of Twin Lakes, Wis., died Sunday evening Feb. 23, 2014 at the Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington.
Floyd Charles Gyger, Jr. was born on Oct. 18, 1928 in Glenview, Ill., the son of the late Floyd C. and Helen Cramer Gyger, Sr. On Oct. 22, 1949 at the Wilmot United Methodist Church, he was united in marriage to Mavis Brown. She preceded him in death on Oct. 5, 2002. On Oct. 15, 2005 in Zion, Ill., he was united in marriage to Nova Cunningham. She preceded him in death on April 15, 2013. He lived in Wilmot, Wis. before moving to Twin Lakes in 1986.
Floyd worked as an automatic screw machine operator for Johnson Outboard Motors in Waukegan, Ill. for 31 years retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Twin Lakes and the Machinist Union. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a fur trapper.
Floyd is survived by four children, Larry (Ellen) Gyger of Lyons, Wis., Margaret (Timothy) McGrath of Paddock Lake, Wis., David (Pamela) Gyger of Wilmot, Wis. and Catherine (Vincent) Valdez of Lily Lake, Wis.; two step children, John (Barbara) Larison of Zion, Ill. and James (Sandy) Birchum of Monticello, Ky.; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; one brother, LeRoy Gyger of Trevor, Wis.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Gertrude St. John and Charlotte Herschmiller.
A Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday March 1, 2014 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, 12735 Richmond Rd. (Hy P) Twin Lakes, WI. Inurnment will be in Wilmot Cemetery at a later date. Memorial Remembrances may be made to the Twin Lakes Rescue Squad 236 E. Main St. Twin Lakes, WI 53181.
