Richard F. Williams

1946 - 2014

Richard F. Williams, 67, of Kenosha passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, following a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born in Milwaukee, Wis., on Sept. 26, 1946, he was the son of the late Dr. Frank C. and Dorothy L. (Schroeder) Williams, Jr. A short while later, his family relocated to Kenosha where Dick attended local schools and Carthage College for two years, received a BS in Biology from Ripon College and after the military, attended UW Parkside.

From 1968 until 1970, Dick honorably served our country in the Vietnam War with the U.S. Army. During his tour, he received numerous commendations, including the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.

On Aug. 30, 1969, Dick was united in marriage to Paula Erdman at the First Presbyterian Church in Kenosha.

They were blessed with two children and 44 years of marriage.

Dick was employed with several companies in Northern Illinois as a Systems Analyst, retiring from Volkswagon Credit in 2011.

A car enthusiast, Dick enjoyed driving his corvette, riding his motorcycles and building model airplanes. He was a quiet and reserved man who cared deeply for his family and gifted his grandchildren with beautiful, handmade doll houses.

Dick will be missed by his wife, Paula Williams; two children, Alyssa and Morgan Williams; two sisters, Jacqueline (Jack) Hetzel and Pamela (Nick) Pierangeli and three grandchildren, Vyctoriah, Madison and Piper.

A gathering of relatives and friends will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home from 4 until 7 p.m. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
