George Nagy

1937 - 2014

George Nagy, 76, of Kenosha died on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the Hospice House in Racine.

Born on April 20, 1937, in Budapest, Hungary, he was the son of the late Janos and Vivian (Vigh) Nagy.

George was married to Carol (Nehls) Nagy who passed away Aug. 13, 1971. He was united in marriage to Bernice Reck on July 28, 1973 at Bethany Lutheran Church.

George was employed with JI Case for 31 years, retiring in 1991 and was a member of the UAW Local 180 Retirees.

He was a member of Holy Nativity Lutheran Church; enjoyed traveling to many countries- Australia being his favorite. George played in an adult soccer league in the 1970s and 1980s. A snow bird for 51/2 months a year in Florida, he was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Green Bay Packer fan. He was an accomplished bowler, winning many 1st place trophies. He appreciated the opera and cherished fishing trips to Hiles and Eagle River, Wis., in the summer with his godson, J.T. George also loved gardening.

George is survived by his wife, Bernice; three sisters, Magda Jankovich, and Viktoria and Rose, both in Budapest, Hungary; a niece, Mary Rackovan; nephew, John Jankovich; great niece, Lauren Rackovan and godson, J.T. Fiers; along with many other nieces, nephews and friends. He is further survived by a brother-in-law, Gene Prickett; and three sisters-in-law, Gladys Prickett, Nancy Arezina and Mildred Jordan.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by an infant son, Louis George and a brother, John.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014, at 12 (Noon) at Holy Nativity Lutheran Church, 2313-17th Ave., Kenosha. Private inurnment will take place in St. George Cemetery. A visitation for George will be held on Friday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
