Nora Maloney

Nora Maloney, 84, of Racine, died on Friday, March 21, 2014, at Wheaton Franciscan Health Care All Saints-St. Marys.

Born in Kenosha on Aug. 8, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Oline (Larsen) Jespersen. As a young child, she moved with her family to Racine. She attended Racine schools and was a graduate from Washington Park High School.

On Oct. 20, 1951, in Racine, she was married to Victor Larsen. Their union was later dissolved. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1977. On Oct. 28, 1967, in Racine, she was married to Thomas Maloney. He preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 2013.

Nora was employed in sales with K-Mart for 17 years. Prior to K-Mart, she was employed as a teller with various local banks. After her retirement, she was employed as a demonstrator with Sams Club.

She looked forward to visiting many casinos and loved traveling to Las Vegas. Nora would try her luck playing bingo and the various slot machines. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, great-grandkids, and the special care Jamie Benson gave her.

She is survived by her five children, Alan (Nancy) Larsen, Norine Young, David Larsen, Debra (Richard) Okon and Mark Maloney; ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; her many loving nieces and nephews; and her very special sister-in-law, Rose Hoefs.

In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters, Peter, who died in infancy, Peter M., Herbert, Helmer, Oda, Olga, Leona, Meta, Earl and her twin brother, Norman.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove. A visitation for Nora will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
