Francine J. Fran Larson, 78, of Kenosha, died on Friday, March 22, 2014, at her residence.
Born on July 16, 1935, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Frank M. and Rosine (Salerno) Filippelli. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.
On Nov. 10, 1957, she was united in marriage to James Larson. Their union was blessed with two sons.
In 1969, they moved their family to Missoula, Mont., returning to Kenosha in 1998. After 44 years of marriage, James preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 2002.
She attended St. Pauls Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday school teacher. Francine was an avid reader and belonged to various book clubs. She had an interest in politics and was a member of the Montana Democratic Party. Francine was an old movie buff who enjoyed traveling, western art, and trivia. Her many passions included making Christmas ornaments, love of family and cooking; especially her delicious Swiss steak.
Francine is survived by her two sons, Scott (Mary) Larson of Shakopee, Minn., and David Larson of Missoula, Mont.; her two grandchildren, Nichelle and Brynn Larson; her great granddaughter, Mahkona; her brother, Dennis (Nikki) Filippelli of Kenosha; her two sisters, Juliette Filippelli of Kenosha and Maria (Brian) Young of Sheboygan; and her sister-in-law, Debbie Filippelli.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Filippelli.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home. Private interment will take place in Green Ridge Cemetery. A visitation for Francine will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 26 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Memorial remembrances to the family would be appreciated.
