Elizabeth J. Niccolai

1918 - 2014

Elizabeth J. Niccolai, a resident of Kenosha, died March 30, 2014.

She was born on April 15, 1918, in Woodstock, Ill. She was the daughter of the late Peter and Caroline (Franceschi) Niccolai. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha.

She was an army nurse stationed in England and then retired from Downey Veterans Hospital of Great Lakes, IL.

Elizabeth was a member of St. Marks Catholic Church.

She traveled extensively with good friends; and being an avid sports fan, especially baseball, took many nieces and nephews to games as recent as the Brewers. She was also a great photographer and took many slides and pictures of her travels and family.

Elizabeth is survived by one sister, Lillian Hartnell of Kenosha; and a sister-in-law, Norma Niccolai of Burlington. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Marguerite and Mary, and five brothers Albert, Edward, Frank, Peter and Alfred, and a very dear friend, Dolores Mitchell.

The family would like to thank the staff of Casa Del Mare, especially her caregiver, Sandra Fonte for the wonderful care given to Elizabeth.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 4, at St. Marks Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Interment will be private. A visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance or St. Marks Catholic Church would be appreciated.
