Berniece Budta

1919 - 2014

Berniece (Butautas) Budta, 94, of Kenosha passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Hospice Alliance Hospice House. The daughter of the late Anthony and Micalina (Namikis) Butautas. She was born on July 12, 1919, in Kenosha. She attended schools locally and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1937. She served in the Army Air Corp during World War II from January 1944 to January 1946 and left with a T5 grade. She worked for Spic & Span in Milwaukee and then for Rite-Way Cleaners until her retirement in May 1996 after 50 years.

She was a member of St. Marys Friendly Center, AARP, Senior Action Council, Friendly Walkers of St. Marys and a charter member of Women in Military Service for Memorial Foundation. She was also a member of the Kenosha Public Museum.

Surviving are her nephews, John in Maryland and James in Virginia.She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Felix and Victor; and sister, Joanna.

Funeral services for Berniece will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at the Hansen-Lendman Funeral Home with interment to follow at Green Ridge Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the would be greatly appreciated.
