Josephine V. Krotzer
1919 - 2014
Josephine V. Krotzer, 94, previously of Waukegan and Kenosha, died on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Clement Manor Health Center in Greenfield, Wis.
Born in Waukegan, Ill., on June 14, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Helen (Gust) Pipcius. She attended schools in Waukegan and was a graduate of Waukegan Township High School.
On June 14, 1944, at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Waukegan, Ill., she was united in marriage to M. Joseph Krotzer. They moved in the mid 1950s to Kenosha, making it their new home. After over 56 years of marriage, sadly, Joseph preceded her in death on July 29, 2000.
Josie was employed as a chief clerk with OMC/Johnson Motors for 26 years, retiring in 1980.
While living in Kenosha, she was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church.
Josie was very proud of her Lithuanian Heritage and tried to keep traditions in her family. She loved playing bingo, gardening, making crafts and candy. It was a day to remember when she made 110 pounds of chocolate turtles all at one time.
She will be remembered by her two sisters, Eleanor Erbes of Crystal Lake, Ill., and Patricia A. Silvola of Lindenhurst, Ill.; and sixteen nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Valeria Rimkus and Frances Miller.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at 12 Noon at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2020 91st Street. Interment will be held on Monday, April 14 at 10 a.m. in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, Ill. A visitation for Josie will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to Clement Manor, 3939 S. 92nd Street, Greenfield, WI 53228, would be appreciated.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Harmony of Kenosha and Clement Manor Health Center for the loving care they provided to Josie.
