Franklin Charles Gillock
1944 - 2014
Franklin Charles Gillock was taken into the presence of his Savior on Saturday, April 12, 2014, after a 9 year battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Born in Walla Walla, Wash., on April 9, 1944, he was the son of the late Lola and Mahlon Gillock. On Nov. 5, 1977, he married Beverly Bartley of Portland, Ore.
Frank spent many years as a truck driver and church planter in the Houston, Tex., area. He was a pastor, singer, and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. After his retirement with Arco, Frank committed himself to the Chaplin service returning to school to receive his Masters Degree in Chaplaincy from Divinity in order to better serve the US Coast Guard at Cape Disappointment at Ilwaco, Wash., and District 8 Pacific County Chaplin for the Washington State Patrol. Frank and Bev moved to Racine in 2013 to be closer to family.
Survived by his wife, Beverly Gillock; his children, Ron (Nichola), Daryl (Ellen) and Julie (Chris) Helvey; grandchildren, Joshua, Carissa, Carrie, Mason, Daryl Jr, and Cheyanne; great-grandchildren, Jonah and Ryan; and brothers, Gordon (Donna) and Jerry (Plum).
He was preceded by two sons, Cary and Ricky; and three brothers, Curtis, George and Dwight.
At his request Frank will be buried at sea off the Washington Coast at Cape Disappointment.
