Mildred (Shaw) Jones
1913 - 2014
Mildred (Shaw) Jones, 101, of Kenosha, Wis., peacefully from this life on April 24, 2014, at Kenoshas Clairidge House. She was enveloped in the love of her devoted family.
Mildred was born in March 1913, a daughter of James Harvey and Edith (Mountford) Shaw. In September 1933 she married LeRoy jones, father of Harold and Beatrice. The couple was blessed with three children together: Gerald, Dale, and Nancy Martelle. The young family soon moved to Kenosha, where they joined the First United Methodist Church. Mildred was active in the church and its circles.
Soon after graduating, Mildred worked as a seamstress and instructor for the Singer Sewing Company. Soon, she found a position at St. Catherines Hospital which combined her talents in accounting and office management. At home, she continued sewing, now for her growing family, creating everything from baby gear to wedding apparel. In addition to sewing, Mildred mastered many crafts, including the almost-lost art of tatting. Mildred lovingly shared her passion for crafting with three generations to follow.
