Thomas L. Phillips

1936 - 2014

Thomas L. Phillips, 77, of Kenosha, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.

Born Sept. 28, 1936, in Baldwyn, Miss., he was the son of the late Howard T. and Bessie Annice (Mink) Phillips. He attended Itawamba Junior College.

On Nov. 23, 1956, Thomas married the love of his life, Sandra J. Lawell in Booneville, Miss. They were happily married for 57 years, setting a wonderful example of a loving marriage. He was employed at Warwick Electronics, Home Juice Company, American Motors/Chrysler and retired from the job he loved as a bus driver for the City of Kenosha in 1999.

Thomas was a member of the First United Methodist Church and its Second Fifty Club and Kenosha Senior Citizens.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra J. Phillips of Kenosha; his brother, Charles E. Phillips of Powder Springs, Ga.; his sister, Betty Jean Stone of Baldwyn, Miss.; two children, Elizabeth A. Andersen and Stacey J. (Michael) Palumbo, both of Kenosha; and two grandchildren, Samantha E. Palumbo and Tyler R. Palumbo, both of Kenosha.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws, Wallace E. and Alice E. Lawell.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1 at First United Methodist Church beginning at 9:30 a.m., followed by an 11:30 a.m. service. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 919 60th Street, Kenosha.
