Cynthia R. Davis

1955 - 2014

Cynthia R. Davis (nee Chatterton), 59, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 4, 2014, at The Kathy Hospice of West Bend. She was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer two years ago, and fought strongly and gracefully through her journey.

Cynthia was born in Pontiac, Mich., on Feb. 9, 1955, to Richard and Billie (nee Simpson) Chatterton. She later met David Davis Jr. and they married Aug. 2, 1980. Cynthia especially loved being a mother to her three children, her heart and soul enjoyed being with the family on White Sand Lake. Cynthia also enjoyed her Knitsters Club, running and reading. Her passion for reading extended through to her profession as a teacher, where she had a big impact on both students and teachers. She was also a marvelous baker and cook and enjoyed making outstanding meals for family and friends.

Cynthia will be deeply missed by her loving husband, David Davis Jr.; children, David III (Courtney), Jared and Sarah Davis; parents, Richard and Billie Chatterton; mother-in-law and step father-in-law Sally Anne Rullman and James Kremers; her siblings, Carla Key, Tom (Susan) Chatterton, Sharon Chatterton; sister-in-law Nina Davis (Christopher Dadian); and brother-in-laws John (Mary) Davis and James (Carrie) Davis. Cynthia is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cynthia is preceded in death by her father-in-law David Winningham Davis and brother-in-law David Key.

Private services will be held for Cynthia. In lieu of flowers, the family will be sending memorial gifts to the UW brain cancer research at the Carbone Center in Madison.
