Clifford Einar Mattson

1930 - 2014

Clifford Einar Mattson, 84, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Manor Care.

He was born on June 30, 1930, to the late Einar and Viola (Somppi) Mattson in Marengo Township in Wisconsin. He was educated in Ashland.

On June 4, 1949, he married the love of his life Eunice Juoni in Ironwood, Mich. They came to Kenosha in 1950. Cliff worked as a machinist at Dynamatic, retiring in 1989.

Cliff was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He was also a member of International Association of Machinists. Cliff loved NASCAR. His hero was Dale Earnhardt, Sr. followed by Dale Junior. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, ATVing and snowmobiling.

Cliff is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eunice; his sons, Darrell (Lynne) Mattson of Trevor and Gary (Suzette) Mattson of Florence, Ariz.; his grandsons, Johnathan and Jason (Megan) Mattson; his brothers, Vincent (Mary Ann) Mattson of Ashland and Clifton (Marilyn) Mattson of Mukwonago; and his sister, Virginia (Bill) Craven of Ozaukee, Kan.

His brother-in-laws, Elton and Jerry, and his nephews, Michael, Jerry Jr. and Russell, precede him in death.

Funeral Services for Cliff will be held on Friday, July 18, at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church (2006 60th St.). Visitation will be held on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Grace Lutheran Church.
