Ruby Lee Kilgore

1945 - 2013

Ruby Lee Kilgore, 67, passed away on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013.

Born in Lake Village, Ark., on March 4, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Lula Mae (Fisher) Lambert.

Ruby was united in marriage to Joe A. Kilgore on May 10, 1969. He preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1999.

She was employed as a supervisor with Anchor Hocking Co., for many years, retiring in 2005.

Ruby was a member of the Second Baptist Church where she served as an usher. She also volunteered as a poll worker. Ruby will be remembered as a devoted mother and caretaker.

Ruby is survived by her son, Joseph; her siblings, Johnny (SueAnn) Taylor of Racine, Odell Fisher of Monroe, Wis., John Fisher of Kenosha, Charles (Clara) Fisher of Kenosha, Rosie Fisher of Kenosha, Dixie Chapman of Kenosha, Mary (Rick Brown) Chatman of Conway, Ark.; one half-brother, Charlie Lambert of Chicago; two half-sisters, Mary Lambert of Dermott, Ark., and Lilly Wesley of Chicago along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Gaston; her sister, Patricia Gaston and half-brother, Johnny Lambert.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Second Baptist Church, 3925 32nd Ave. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Cemetery. A visitation for Ruby will be held on Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
