Robert W. Bob Petit

Robert (Bob) W. Petit, 89, passed to eternal life on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013.
Bob was born Jan. 15, 1924, to George and Emma Petit. He was united in marriage to Marianne Meyer on June 8, 1946. Marianne preceded him in death on Nov. 28, 2012, after 66 years of marriage.
Bob was an electrician by trade. He retired from American Motors on Nov. 1, 1980, after 30 years. Bob proudly served in Europe with the Army Air Corp during World War II.
Pursuing his dream, Bob became a private pilot and was a member of the EAA. He enjoyed attending the EAA annual fly-in in Oshkosh. After his retirement, he and Marianne moved to Largo, Fla., and spent their summers traveling the U.S. and Canada.
Bob is survived by five children, William (Mary) Petit, Mary (William) Aney, Janet (Bill) Morrow, Mark (Melissa) Petit and Patricia (Gary) Bushonville. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; his brother, Vernon Petit and sister, Bea Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, daughter, Peggy Prentice; son-in-law, Charles Prentice; brother, Eugene Petit and sister, Annette Beck.
There will be a visitation with the family at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 20, at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 7117 14th Avenue, followed by Mass at 11 a.m. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Harmony Living Center and Hospice Alliance for their compassionate care of Bob.
