Mary Jane Radtke
1931 - 2013
Mary Jane Radtke, 82, passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at her home in Pleasant Prairie.
She was born in Burlington, Nov. 7, 1931, to Ernest and Lucy (nee Sagert) Umnus. She spent her early life in Burlington where she attended school, graduating from Burlington High School.
She was united in marriage to Richard K. Radtke. Following marriage they made their home in Kenosha where they raised their family. He preceded her in death April 26, 1997.
Mary worked at American Motors/Chrysler for 27 years where she was a member of Local 72, Chairperson of the Womens Activity Board and recording secretary of Wisconsin State C.A.P. She traveled around to different parts of the country fulfilling her duties in those positions.
She was an avid crafter and loved to share all the treasures she created.
She is survived by her daughters, Roxann (Walter) Graeber and Amber (Edward) Carey.
She is remembered by her grandchildren, Arianne Carey, James Carey (deceased), Brian Carey, Sheila Trussell, Jack Carey, Wally Graeber; eight great grandchildren and one on the way. She is further survived by siblings, William Umnus, Jack Umnus, Florence Snooks Sell, Lucy Cookie Warner and Geraldine Akre.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Pauline Eskstein; brothers, Warren Umnus and Robert Umnus.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society.
A Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, from 12 (Noon) to 2 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home.
