WATSON Johnie Ray, 65, husband of Susie Watson, passed away Feb 8, 2013 in his home. He was the son of the late John Martin and Jean Watson of Sandy Hook, KY. He served in the US Army obtaining the rank of Corporal before he was honorably discharged. He has worked at Brandeis Machinery as a field service heavy equipment mechanic for the past 38 years. His other passion outside of hunting was his love for amateur radio and volunteering his time at various local charity events to assist with communications. NA4J will be missed by many. Johnie was indeed "The Rock" of amateur radio public events. Regardless of the event, or who the coordinator was - Johnie was the one that kept everyone straight. He served everyone selfishly.
Without any effort, Johnie was a role model. His calm and well reasoned demeanor simply brought calm to any situation.
A sly wit and a good heart lit whatever space he walked into. I will miss you, and will cherish your example.

Johnie made the Rolex Event at the Horse Park a pleasure. He was one of the good guys -- a disappearing asset. Johnie will be sorely missed. RIP.

Susie, Daughters and family I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how devastating this must be. When someone has been ill their death is not such a shock, but as far as I know you had no reason to suspect such a tragedy. I am glad Daisy is there with you for support. I am unable to attend the service but my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Love you
