Memories and Condolences
for Catherine Broadus

Not sure what to say?

Ray and I send our love and prayers to you Loren and your family. We have many fond memories of Catherine and her loving ways. We remember her humor and her devotion to our Lord and our Disciples of Christ churches. We remember the two of you teaching our marriage enrichment classes and retreat at Lexington many years ago. May God comfort you with the hope and peace our Lord Jesus Christ came to bring as you celebrate her life and all she was to so many.

Dear Loren and family: Homer and I were saddened to hear of Catherine's death. We had the pleasure of sitting with both of you at the Andrew Jackson reunion at Ramada Inn in April, 2012. We looked forward each year to your visit to Ponte Vedra. I would always make her reservations at the Jackson/Jills' luncheon. Her death is our loss and Heaven's gain. She walked the walk and talked the talk.
With our love, Homer and Mary Blackman,Jacksonville, Florida

My dearest Broadus extended family, there aren't enough words to express my sympathy. Some of my earliest and fondest Crestwood church-family memories, as "Little Margaret", include the the bigger-than-life personalities of your clan. To this day, I am proud to say I have never seen or "heard" any other family take charge of a crowd, even when full of complete strangers, like yours! Now THAT'S priceless. Our two families' friendship will always hold a special place in my mind, heart and soul. God Bless you. She is well and home now.
Much love,

Catherine was a one of a kind human being. Faithful and kind, funny and committed to the church, her family, and church women. I thank God for her life and her luminous spirit, and I pray God's comfort and peace for the Broadus family.

Catherine was your best friend within 10 seconds of your first meeting. I still remember how she used to sneak up behind me at the grocery store, and say something snarky. A wonderful Christian, friend, and mentor.

Loren. Catherine was able to as Hemmingway once said: (She) ...lived life all the way up."
She took life as a gift and translated it into joy.
I am grateful to have known her. Apostle Paul wrote what I believe in 1 CORINTHIANS 2:9.

Loren and family....I am saddened by the loss of Catherine...Heaven will never be the same! You were our friend at COB and Point Pleasant; I remember Catherine from ICWF QA in 1978. She made me laugh. She encouraged me via notes and Christmas letters. My love to you all.

Catherine could walk into water aerobics looking like a million bucks. She always put a smile on my face, because of her wonderful smile and heart. She communicated with me via U.S. mail alot, and always supported me in my writing endeavors to the H-L newpaper. In the first mos. of her diagnosis, when I called her and saw her, you'd never have known she was sick. That is the kind of upbeat, courageous woman she was. I will miss her. Blessings to you and your family
Loren.
