Gloria Hartman-English Obituary

HARTMAN-ENGLISH Gloria, 89, a resident of Sayre Christian Village, passed away on Jan 23, 2013. She was a native of Lexington and graduated from Henry Clay High School and Fugazzi College. For many years she was a bookkeeper for J.D. Harper & Sons Roofing Co. She is survived by her husband, Rolen "Bob" E. Hartman; son, Bill English, and his wife, Marty; grandsons, Brian and Mark English; and a special niece, Carol Reynolds. She was preceded in death by Bill's father, Norris English, and a sister, Betty Jean Reynolds. Gloria was a member of The North East Christian Church, and her membership dates back to the predecessor churches of North East-Maryland Ave. and Northern Heights Christian Churches. Gloria was a devout Christian and had a great faith in God. She had many friends and cherished her friendships with all the ladies in her lunch group throughout the years. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to her favorite destination, Daytona Beach, FL, and attending any events involving her grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11am Sat, Jan 26, 2013 at Milward-Broadway. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Fri evening and prior to the service. The family would like to express their appreciation to both the residents and staff of Sayre Christian Village for their love and concern for Gloria. She was treated with respect and received outstanding care.
