Carey, Mollie - Lexington  
CAREY Mollie Sue, 101, of Lexington, KY, widow of Hanley Lee Carey and mother of Bruce Wayne Carey, passed away at Baptist Health Lexington on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at 5:50am. She was the daughter of the late J.L. Sheperson and Adaline Owens Sheperson. She was a representative for Avon products for many years and the Darling Shop. She folded bandages for the Red Cross during WWII. She was a member of Tates Creek Christian Church for 64 years. She was a member of the "Willing Workers" there, the Hannah and Lydia Circle, and the Better with Age Club. Survivors other than her son include several nieces and nephews, including Vonda Barker and Vena Preston, all of Lexington, KY. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Sada Carey, Loraine Burns, and Isabell Cummins; and three brothers, Sam, Robert and Wallace Sheperson. She had many long-time friends and a special one, Mary Margaret Nagle and a pet cat, Blacky that meant so much to her. Funeral services will be held 12:30pm Thur, May 26, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. by Pastor Tommy Simpson and Dr. Brad Walden. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg, KY. Pallbearers will be nephews. Visitation will be 10:30am Thur until the service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Tates Creek Christian Church, 3150 Tates Creek Rd., Lexington, KY 40502, the Lexington Humane Society, 1600 OId Frankfort Pike, Lexington, KY 40504 or to a charity of choice.

Carson, Shane Scott - Nicholasville  
NICHOLASVILLE - Shane Scott Carson, 41, son of Paul Carson and the late Donna Sue Guy Carson passed away on Sunday, May 22, from injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident. Shane was an outdoor type person who loved running heavy duty equipment, construction work, hunting and fishing. He is survived by sons Conner and Jared Carson, sisters Paula Jasper, husband Jeff and Shannon Carson, nieces and nephews Kaihlab Fain, Amanda, Madison, and Morgan Jasper, Trent and Logan Brock as well as numerous extended family members. He was preceded in death by a brother Howard Kelly Carson and maternal grandmother Gladys Scott Guy. Shane's family invites you to come share your memories and visit with them from 6-8pm on Thursday, May 26, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. As was Shane's request cremation is being provided by Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home.
