Caple, Rev. Dr. William - Lexington  
CAPLE Rev. Dr. William J. (Bill) grew up in New Albany, Indiana. Bill is survived by his two children: James William and Christina Caple (Christopher) Harrison, and five grandchildren, Matthew, Claire, and Evelyn Caple and Nicholas and Jessica Harrison; brothers, David (Ann) and Robert (Pam) Caple; his nieces, Allie, Amie Caple (New Albany, IN), Abby Auten (Terre Haute, IN) and C.C. Zaino (Lexington); nephews, Ben Caple, Dr. Alex Harper and Joshua Harper; cousins, Mike and Tom Carter (Lexington), John and Tom Daugherty, Lynn Thomas (Nicholasville), Charles Daugherty and Pam Evans (Louisville); and an uncle, Donald Daugherty (Nicholasville). He was proceeded in death by his wife of 49 years, Patricia Ellen, his father, William Able, his mother, Dorothy Caple, his sister, Sandy Harper, and his nieces, "JJ" Louthan, and Amanda Caple. Bill graduated with a BA from Georgetown College, a M.Div. from Duke University Divinity School, a D.Min. from Drew University, a year residency in Clinical Pastoral Education at Brooke Army Military Center, and graduated from the U.S. Army's Command and General Staff College. Bill was ordained an Elder in the Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church. He had served churches in Enon, Ohio; Liberty, North Carolina; Cynthiana and Sadieville, Kentucky; San Antonio, Texas, and Sandborn, Edwardsport, Freelandville, Evansville and Aurora Indiana. Bill was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and a retired Chaplain from the United States Army after 22 years of service to God and Country. Bill taught English at the Japanese Naval Academy, and served as Chaplain and religious instructor for Randolph-Macon Academy, Front Royal, Virginia. Bill and his wife Pat retired to Lexington, KY, where he was active in Centenary United Methodist Church, singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school. He was also an Oblate of St. Meinrad Archabbey. Bill sought to be an ordinary human while being guided by the Holy Spirit to glorify the name of Jesus by showing God's Love as much as he was able. Bill was not a pious person, but one who plainly spoke the word. Funeral service will be at the Centenary United Methodist Church Chapel, 2800 Tates Creek Rd., Lexington, KY at 11am Sat, May 30, 2015. Visitation will be 10am until the service time at the church. Burial will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery with the soldiers he cared for so deeply, and with his wife who was the love of his life. Instead of flowers, donations can be made to The Centenary United Methodist Church Endowment Fund, 14034 Old State Rd, Evansville, Indiana 47725. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd., in Lexington, KY, is handling arrangements.

CHADWELL Marjorie, 84, widow of Ralph John Chadwell, died Thurs. May 21, 2015. Born June 3, 1930 in Lexington, KY, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Sarah Sharp Hedges. Mrs. Chadwell was a member of First Baptist Church of Russell Springs, KY. Survivors include a daughter, Brenda (Tommy) Mansfield, Garrard County, KY; a son, John (Rachel) Steele, Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren, Audrey, Brook and Charles Steele, and Adam Mansfield. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lamb; and two brothers, Stanley Hedges and David Hedges. Funeral services will be held 10:30am Tue at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 9:30am Tue until the service time.
