Nona Platt Obituary

ASHLAND - Nona Ben "Bennie" Elder Platt. Born June 2, 1938 in Ashland, KY, she was the daughter of the late Nona Ben Fannin Elder and the late Houston Elder. Nona attended Ashland schools and was a 1957 graduate of Ashland High School. She was employed at the C.H. Parsons Co. for over 40 years. Bennie started in sales and advanced to an executive position with the company as well as a stockholder. Bennie was involved with and was a member of several civic, social and business organizations. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce H. Platt, Sr. She is survived by a son, Neal B. Morris (Nan) of Georgetown, KY, a brother, John T. Elder of Lexington, KY, an aunt, Willa Mae Fannin Guthrie of Lexington, KY, nephews, Thomas Elder of Lexington, KY and Eric Elder of Frankfort, KY, cousin, Steve Hunt (Molly) and sons of Lexington, KY, and several other cousins. A special "Thank You" to Hospice of the Bluegrass and special caregivers, Roxanne Cox, Della McArter, Melissa Tate and Karen Mosley. Visitation will be Fri, Jan 13, 2012 from noon til 1pm. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Jennifer Johnson at 1pm at Lazear Funeral Home, Ashland, KY. Burial will be at Rose Hill Burial Park.
