Adolph Hilpp

LEBANON - Adolph Benjamin Hilpp, Jr, age 94 of Lebanon, died Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Hospital, Danville, KY. He was born on Dec 5, 1919 in Bardstown, KY. Mr. Hilpp was a W.W. II U.S. Army Veteran, member of the Lebanon V.F.W. Post 5910, former Co-owner of Hilpp's Restaurant, was a regional manager for the Louisville Times, Courier-Journal and Lexington Herald Leader from 1936 until 1982, worked as a Parimutuel Clerk at Churchill Downs and Keeneland from 1966-2011, and was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by: parents - Adolph B. and Julia Ann Abell Hilpp, Sr., son - Raymond B. "Benny" Hilpp, 2 brothers - Robert F. "Bobby" Hilpp and Edward Hilpp, 2 sisters -Alice Jean Johnson and Evelyn Heslin. He is survived by best friend and former wife, Frances H. Montgomery, Lebanon, KY, 2 Sons - John Kenneth Hilpp, Louisville, KY, Paul Freddie (Jill Rucker) Hilpp, Lebanon, KY, 2 daughters - Patricia (Ed) Hays, Danville, KY, and Barbara D. Hilpp, Danville, KY. Also 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Lebanon, KY. Interment to follow in St. Augustine Church Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitations 4-8pm Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Bosley Funeral Home, 246 South Proctor Knott Ave., Lebanon, KY. Prayer services will be held at 7pm Tuesday evening by Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
