Brenda Jones

JONES Brenda Whitehouse, 67, wife of Harry Jones, Jr., died Friday, February 8, 2013. Born in Lebanon, KY, she was the daughter the late Marshall and Frances W. Whitehouse, of Danville, KY. Brenda was predeceased by her sister, Marsha MacDonald. A graduate of Danville High School, she was a member of the cheerleading squad, and president of her Senior Girls Sorority. Brenda started her interior design career joining her husband's building company, "Harry Jones, Jr. Building and Management Company" designing interiors of many homes in the Lexington area. Upon Jones Builders entering the commercial building and rental business, Brenda joined Hellringers Furniture Store design team leading store sales for a number of years. Brenda also designed many interiors for builders in the Parade of Home Builders Showcase. Upon Hellringers moving their store, Brenda joined "Design Smiths" design group. Brenda's final project came as a design and build for her longtime client, William J. Simpson for his home at the Avenue of Champions. Brenda was a founding member of the Lexington Womans Club, a member of the Kentucky Athletic Club where she and her family took many trips with their good friends, Bill and Joyce Kennoy. Brenda was a member of the Kentucky Alumni Association, a Kentucky Fellow, a member of the Dansante Dance Club and Keeneland Club. Brenda attended the University of Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky University, taking studies in Interior Design. Brenda enjoyed many good times at Jeromes Boutiques with Eleanor's Gals keeping up with the latest beauty and clothing trends. During Brenda's pregnancy with her third child, she participated as a patient in Dr. Phil Crossen's research involving the development of a vaccine to eliminate the RH antibody buildup in pregnant mothers. In addition to her husband of 49 years, survivors include a daughter, Christy Jones (Steve) Bradley, Lexington; sons, Ted (Katie) Jones, St. Louis, MO and Marshall Clay (Tanya) Jones, Greenville, SC and seven grandchildren, Alaka Hagan, Hudson Bradley, Vivian, Lyla Jones, Ashlyn, Anderson Jones. Brenda's charming smile and unselfish devotion to her friends and family will be greatly missed. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Monday, Feb 11 at Milward-Man O' War, 1509 Trent Blvd. where funeral services will be at 11 am Tuesday, Feb 12. Burial will be at Bellevue Cemetery Danville, KY.
