
PIKEVILLE - David Curtis Campbell, 82, of Nicholasville formerly of Pike Co., passed away, Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington. He was a retired educator and a veteran of the United States
Army. He was born in Pikeville, KY on December 31, 1929 to Ida Chaney Campbell and Elder Alvin Duvall Campbell. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, John W. Campbell, Carmel Campbell, James Cephas Campbell, and Thomas Raymond Campbell and two sisters, Aletha Campbell and Esta Campbell Tackett. He is survived by his wife, Sophia Fields Campbell and one daughter, Sarah Campbell Wilkins (Ken). He is also survived by two sisters, Verna Campbell May (and the late Kelly) and Lena Campbell Coleman (Buford) and a large number of nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday at the Chloe Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with Bros. Glenn Hall, Teddy Honaker, Bob Justice and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Campbell Cemetery on Chloe Road. Military Rites will be conducted at the gravesite by the Johns Creek Chapter 166 of the Disabled American Veterans.
