Floyd Cruse

WINCHESTER - Floyd Allen "Bud" Cruse, 87 of Mt. Sterling passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 following a brief illness. Mr. Cruse was born in Clark County on February 20, 1926 to the late Robert L. and Katherine Watts Cruse. He was a World War II veteran having served in the Army. Mr. Cruse retired from the South Central Bell Telephone Company and was a telephone pioneer and a Mason. He is survived by a daughter, Bemedji Cruse (Dr. Bennett) Asher; a son, Floyd Allen "Buddy" Cruse II of Winchester; three grandsons, Chase Allen Asher of Winchester, Jake and Jesse Cruse of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Belvin "Slick" Cruse; brother-in-law, Ben Swanner; sister-in-law, Ollie Cruse, all of Winchester; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Katherine Cruse Swanner, and brothers, J.R. Cruse, Leo Cruse, Charles Cruse, Ernest Cruse, and Howard Cruse. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 8, 10am-12pm. Services will be conducted at noon by the Reverend Lee Cruse and Reverend Gerald Johns. Burial will follow in the Winchester Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jim Cruse, Ben Swanner,III, Charles Coleman Cruse, John Cruse, Ern Cruse, Linville Snowden, Robert Hampton, Bill Glasscock, Dorsey Wilson, Charlie Lindsay, and Tommy Gabbard. Honorary pallbear-ers are Ben Swanner, Charlie Williams, Eddie Henry, Paul Faulkner, David and Hazel Greene, Ann Shepard, and Eunice Martin.
