GEORGETOWN - John Lloyd Crigler, loving husband and father, passed away Saturday, Decemeber 1, 2012 at his home. He leaves behind his loving wife and companion of 28 years, Cecelia Gaines Crigler, four children, Karyn Crigler Bryant (John), Matt Crigler, Ashley Smith (Larry), Whitney Bowers Christopher, and a caregiver who was like a son to him, William Mason. He also leaves grandchildren, Katie and Jackson Bryant, Jordan, Chance, and Rachel Smith, Jason McClain and Amelia Grace Christopher; two brothers Louis A. Crigler (Linda), and Larry Jo Crigler and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by very special and dear friends including, Charles "Hoot" and Kathy Gibson, Johnnie Hymer, Johnny Cannon, Bobby Green, Billy Hicks, Earl "Brother" Adkins, Gerry Calvert, Marie Jones, Janet Johnson, Patty Cornett, Bev Carroll, and Sonny Denniston. John was preceded in death by two very close friends, Bob Halasek and Kenneth Perry. He was born in Hebron Kentucky on May 31, 1936 and was the son of the late John E. and Jo E. Crigler. John was a member of the "fiddling five" 1958 UK Championship basketball team and a teacher, coach, and athletic director at Scott County High School for more than 40 years. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 1317 Ky Hwy 62 E, Cynthiana, Ky 41031. Visitation will be held Monday from 3-8pm at Harmony Christian Church in Georgetown with funeral services at 11am Tuesday. Burial will be private in the Georgetown Cemetery. Johnson's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
