Katherine Coleman

GEORGETOWN - On Wednesday, April 17th, 2013, Katherine Hager Coleman crossed over from this world to be with our Heavenly Father, the angels, and those loved ones gone on before, waiting with open arms to welcome her home. Katherine had courageously fought a long, difficult battle with breast cancer. Through all her hardships she always remained upbeat and optimistic, but in the end, it was not to be. Katherine loved reading, spending time with her family, and working in her flower garden. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. Katherine was born in Matewan, West Virginia on August 9th, 1951. She was the daughter of Glennis Coleman Hager and the late Willie "Jake" Hager. She was a retired teacher of the Pikeville Independent School System and a member of the Samarian Primitive Baptist Church. Left to mourn, but also to celebrate her zest for life, is her best friend and love of her life of 42 years, her husband, Terry, two children, Heather (Brian) Niemeyer and Jacob Coleman. Four grandchildren, who she absolutely adored, McKinley Charles, Katherine Anna-Maria, Coleman Philip, and Sarah Victoria Niemeyer. Also, her mother, Glennis Hager and two sisters, Carol Bowling and Jenny Hager. Mother-in-law, Irene F. Coleman, two brothers-in-law, Mitchell (Sherry) Coleman, Brian Coleman, sisters-in-law, Lannis Coleman and Lisa (Ray) Whitlock.
