DAY Lawrence Willis, Grandmaster, 70, died Thursday, December 20. He was the son of the late William and Herma Garret Day of Hindman, KY. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Day; son, Brandon L. Day; grandchildren, Christen M. and Brandon A. Day; two brothers, Cortez and Douglas Day. He was a leader and teacher to people. He was head of the Black Dragon Fighting Society. During the 1960's he was a student of John Keehan "Count Dante" of Chicago, IL. In addition to being a champion of Civil Rights, he was a Grand Master to Frank Dux legendary Kumite who was the Champion in the 1988 movie "Blood Sport". Lawrence was a master and guardian of the "Death Touch" and was loyal and faithful to Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be 1pm Thursday at the River of Life Church, 757 Wilderness Road, Lexington, KY 40509, with burial to follow in Clintonville Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-9pm at the church and Thursday from 9am until time of service. Kerr Brother Funeral Home Main St. is in charge of arrangements.
