Raymond Morris

MORRIS Raymond Earl, Jr., died at age 70 on November 25, 2013. He was married to his lovely and devoted wife of 33 years, Diane Theresa. He was born August 9, 1943 in Harlan County as the son of a coal-mining alcoholic father and less-than-ideal mother. Oh well. Raymond spent the better part of his first 10 years of life in an orphanage in Jefferson County along with his sister, Patricia. Another sister, Ginny Mae, was adopted while still an infant. He joined the military and served 30 years where he ultimately retired as an Army Sergeant Major. He also retired from state employment where he worked as a Probation and Parole Officer. He was a member of Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Church where he served as a Greeter and Usher and with the Knights of Columbus Council Number14372. He was also a life member of the VFW Post 680. He was preceded in death by daughter Melissa Dawn. Raymond is survived by an older brother Jimmy and sister June. He is also survived by his lovely daughters Deborah Lee and Christy Elizabeth and his only son, Justin Dylan. Arrangements are handled by Care Cremation and Funeral Service. There will be a Funeral Service at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Church at 11am on Saturday November 30, 2013.
