WARREN Gordon Dean, Sr., 71, passed away Thursday, Feb, 21, 2013 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY of a heart attack brought on by complications of Renal Failure with his wife and son by his side. Gordon is survived by his wife, Anita Maynard Warren and son Gordon Dean Warren, Jr., whom he loved and cherished. Also surviving is one very special sister, Freda (Howard) Dulin of Memphis, TN as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gordon was a lifelong resident of Lexington and was the son of the late Sherman D. and Nannie Jones Warren. He was a graduate of Henry Clay High School in Lexington. Following graduation, Gordon enlisted in the US Coast Guard and spent his military career stationed at the USCG Base in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After serving in the military, Gordon was employed by IBM in Lexington for 30 years until his retirement. The family has honored Gordon's wishes for cremation and there will be no public visitation or funeral services. Family and friends of Gordon will have a "Celebration of Life" gathering for Gordon later in the spring, details pending. At this time his family asks only for your thoughts and prayers to help us through this difficult time. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, chaplains, and staff at St. Joseph Hospital on Harrodsburg Rd. for their loving care for Gordon and his family during his final hours. Gordon is now in Heaven with his Father and Mother that loved him so dearly. He was loved by all who knew him and will be truly missed. May he rest in peace. www.milwardfuneral.com
