JAMESTOWN - Jack Metcalfe Conner, 85, departed this world Wednesday, November 27th, 2013 at Jewish Hospital, Louisville, KY. Born April 11, 1928 in Cambridge, OH and raised in Walton, KY, Jack was the son of Carl and Faye Conner. Jack served his nation during WWII in the U.S. Navy and was a U.S. Army reservist during the Korean War. A graduate of the University of Kentucky and the University of Nebraska, Jack was a professor at the University of KY, a professor at Western KY University, and later an instructor and educational psychologist for Jefferson County Public Schools. Jack leaves behind his wife Mary Ella (Smith) Conner; daughter Brenda Baliel and her three children; daughter Melissa (Conner) Arnold, her husband David and their two children; cousin John Brakefield, cousin Barbara Fay (Brakefield) Daugherty, her husband Bart and their two children. Visitation will be on December 1st, 2013, from 4-7pm CST at Friendship Baptist Church, Russell Springs, KY. Service will be on December 2, 2013, beginning at 11am CST, also at Friendship Baptist.
