HALFHILL Joseph A "Buddy", 84, of Lexington, KY passed away on November 19, 2013. Born June 27, 1929 to Emmett and Gertrude Halfhill, Buddy was the loving husband of Fay Halfhill for 63 years. He leaves behind one son, Joseph (Stephanie) Halfhill Jr and three daughters, Marcella Halfhill, Zella (Chuck) Stambaugh, Gail (David) Webster, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Mildred Fint and brother, Hubert Halfhill. Additionally, he had a plethora of nieces and nephews that he loved dearly and they loved him. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, an Air Force veteran, a Mason and retired from the Bluegrass Army Depot. God gifted Buddy with faith and humility, love and compassion, a quick wit, determination and perseverance, no matter the task and found joy in work and simple things. He possessed talents for woodworking, repairing everything around the home, making friends and gardening, especially his beautiful flowers. He used those talents so often to help others. He was devoted to and loved his family deeply and he never let a day pass without letting them know through his actions as well as words. Services will be held at Kerr Brothers' Funeral Home, 463 East Main Street in Lexington. Visitation will be Thursday Nov 21, 4-8pm and Friday Nov 22, 12-2pm with the funeral service at 2pm. Burial in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.
