MCGREGOR Martha Lair, 74, passed away on Saturday, Feb 1 at her residence. She was a graduate of Coral Gables High School, attended Agnes Scott College, and graduated from University of Kentucky. She was a school teacher in Annapolis and Lafayette High School. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and served as president of the Alumni Association. She was a U of K Fellow and member of the Spindletop Heritage Society and a Donovan Scholar. She was a life member of the Arboretum and UK Alumni Association. Marty was an avid tennis player and loved her many friends she played with. She was also a splendid swimmer of the Blue Marlins while at UK. She had a green thumb and loved working in her yard. Survivors include her husband, Alfred McGregor; three sons, Jeffrey H. DVM (Jennifer) Alfred, Jr., (Naomi) and Robert McGregor; one daughter, Debbie (Jim) Addessi; three grandsons, Kenny McGregor, Dylan and Drew Adessi; three granddaughters, Linden, Hannah and Alyssa McGregor; a brother-in-law, Malcolm (Anne) McGregor; and two cousins, Jenny (Dennis) Carrigan, Lexington, and Elizabeth Watson, Coral Gables, FL. She also loved her special dog Jack. Visitation will be from 10am- 12:30pm Thursday at David's Fork Baptist Church, 3245 Cleveland Road, Lexington, KY 40516, with a gathering of friends following at Antebellum Farm, 1984 N. Yarnallton Pike, 40511. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Adams, Danny Wells, Terry Gabbard, Chris Newton DVM, and Bill Wofford. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main St. is in charge of arrangements.
