ALEXANDER Casey Leigh, was born on May 19, 1983 to Mike and Lynne Alexander. Her life was a series of physical and health difficulties which she surmounted valiantly year after year, but on the evening of Sep 9, 2009, beautiful Casey lost her final battle. She never let her problems hold her back from things she wanted to do or helping others. A graduate of Bryan Station High School, Casey was a determined individual with a drive for perfection. She was a dedicated employee of J. Mike Alexander and Associates where she contributed to the success of the company in a variety of areas including office, retail and trade shows. Her passions for life included her devotion to family, her dog Rilee, her love for children, and her love for water skiing at Elk Lake in Owen County. She was always there for friends whenever in need. Her best friend in life was her sister Nikki. The bond they shared was so very strong and will never be broken. Casey is preceded in death by her grandfather, John C. Alexander of Cincinnati, OH and her grandparents Alan K. and Elizabeth A. Heiligmann of Cedar, Michigan. She is survived by her mother and father, Mike and Lynne Alexander, sister Nikki, Grandmother Thelma "mike" Alexander, Aunt and Uncle, Bob and Kim Lehmkuhl, Aunt Sherry Drybrough Langston, nieces and nephews Stacie Bowman, Kaley Lehmkuhl, Bobby and Reichen Lehmkuhl, Ralph Drybrough and Andrew Drybrough. Through her struggles some faithful honorary aunts and uncles: Andy and Evelyn Pulito, Kenny and Pam Cox, John and Judy Yellman, Larry and Doris Tackett, Ralph and Carolyn Anderson, and Fred Orthmeyer. Funeral 9am Sat, Milward-Southland with burial at Lexington Cemetery. Visitation Fri 5-8pm. Casey will be missed and forever loved by so very many. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a contribution in Casey's name to the University of Kentucky Children's Hospital. www.milwardfuneral.com

Lynne--
I am so sorry. We were team-teaching when you were pregnant with Casey and I sat with you at the hospital after Casey was born. I saw the unyielding hope and determination you had. I have never seen anyone as strong as you were in those days, and I felt honored to around you. Casey had your strength and I know how proud you were of her.
Please know that you, Mike, and Nikki are in our prayers.

Mr and Mrs. Alexander and Nikki,
When I heard of Casey's passing I was heartbroken. Casey was my best friend for a long time and we were insperable for that time. I think of her often and that will never change. I cherish the memories that Casey and I shared and will hold dear to my heart the numerous pictures and moments we shared. You all are in my prayers and she will be missed. All though we drifted apart over the last several years she has never left my heart or thoughts. I pray for peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Dearest Lynne,
I was so sorry to read of Casey's death in the paper today. I wish I could be here so that I could go to visitation. My 55th high school reunion is in Somerset this entire weekend and I have already made reservations at the hotel.
My Stuart was 27 when he died. That was in Feb. 1990. My heart knows how your heart is huring, and I care deeply. I no longer have your mailing address, but if and when you feel like doing so, please e mail me so that we can stay in touch.
Please express my sincere sympathy to Nikki and Mike too.

I went to school with miss casey!!! To hear the news on face book when i was looking up bryan station grad... She was a strong person and no matter if she was having a bad day, she was always ready to step in when anyone need her... After we graduate i seen her more in the really world doing the same... We stop seeing so much of each other over the past 5 years. But as i sit here i remember her as strong, good hearted person that she was. She never wanted you to feel her pain. But at this moment i truly do. My prayer are with her family and can't say i feel their pain. Nikki i am so sorry... But i can say she will be truly missed!!
Thanks
