MARTIN - Juanita Brown Compton. It is with much love, fond memories, broken hearts, and with the help of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, this obituary for Juanita Brown Compton was written. Juanita Brown Compton, 82 of Martin, Kentucky, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her devoted family in Martin, KY, in the late evening of January 24, 2013, at home, after a courageous battle with lung cancer surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on Bill hall Branch in McDowell, Kentucky on October 7, 1930 to the late Willie Brown and Lena Vance Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, T.J. Compton of 51 years. Other family members preceding her in death were a sister, Mildred Brown Frasure and three brothers, Robert L. Herman, and George Brown. Juanita leaves behind to cherish her memory and legacy her two daughters, Dr. Susan E. Compton of Ashland, Kentucky and Bonita Compton, of Martin, Kentucky and her most precious grandson, Dr. Justin B. Newsome, of Long Branch, NJ. Also left to mourn her passing is two sisters: Bonnie Williams of Pocatello, ID; and Mary Lou Parkin of Phoenix, AR along with several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Elswick, Rick Hancock, James Barnett, Brian Handshoe, Brent Rose, Craig Isaac, Jamie Johnson, Tony Halbert and Kyle Shepherd. Honorary Pallbearers will be Denzil Hall, Doug Hall, Forrest Hall, Mike Vance, Anthony Castle, Mack Martin, Perry Brown, Tom Brown, Dave Brown, Darrell Brown, Mike Brown and Charlie Brown. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until 9pm Saturday the 25th of January 2013 at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky. The funeral for Juanita Brown Compton will be held on Sunday at 2pm January 27, 2013 at the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home Chapel in Martin, Kentucky conducted by Rev. Lorie Vannucci. Burial will take place at the Dingus Family Cemetery in Martin, Kentucky immediately following the services.
