CYNTHIANA - Robert L. "Rob" Stroub, age 70, Cynthiana, died Sunday, February 23, 2014 at his residence. Born in Harrison County, May 21, 1943, to the late Everett and Margaret Wiggins Stroub, he was a retired supervisor from Ladish, a member of Pleasant Green Baptist Church, Community Draft Horse and Mule Association, Eastern Kentucky Draft Horse Association, Kentucky Draft Horse Association and Cynthiana Elks' Lodge #438 and a Kentucky Colonel recipient. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Donna Kay Houston Stroub; a daughter, Beth (Lee) Tucker, Harrison County; two brothers, James Stroub and Steve (Kathy) Stroub, both of Harrison County; three sisters, Dorothy (Jack) Harp, Harrison County, Carolyn Whitson, Lewisburg, Tennessee and Sherryl Stroub, Harrison County; and a grandchild Josie Kate Tucker. Funeral services will be conducted 11am Thursday at Ware Funeral Home by Bro. Mike Hays and Rick Conley. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Wednesday. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Flora Shropshire Animal Shelter, 1751 New Lair Road, Cynthiana, Kentucky 41031. Active pallbearers will be George Switzer, Everett Switzer, Patrick Hicks, Vincent Smith, Charlie Hill, Jimbo Stroub, Barry Whitson and Billy Earl North.
