Frances Amato Obituary
AMATO Frances (Frankie) Corman Long, 76, wife of Matthew (Buddy) Amato, passed away Tue, Feb 25, 2014 at her home. Born Oct 25, 1937 to the late Frank Riley Corman and Esther Margaret Haddix Corman. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Corman. In addition to her husband of 37 years, she is survived by her children, Glenn Joseph Long and Marianne Long, both of Lexington. Frankie was a 1956 graduate of Henry Clay High School. She worked for many years at the Fayette County Clerk's Office and later at 1st Federal Savings & Loan where she retired in 2003. Frankie cherished the memories of the times spent with friends at Herrington Lake and with her traveling buddies on the annual "girl's trip" each Nov. She had an infectious laugh and was a friend to everyone she met. Frankie will be dearly missed by the entire Amato family especially on the annual beach trip, which she started in 1980. The family would like to thank Dr. Lee Hicks and his staff for their loving care of Frankie, and a special thanks to Kym Blackwell, Jackie Osborne, Melody Kozeluk and Shari Davis at the Baptist Health Care Infusion Center. Visitation will be from 5-9pm Friday at Kerr Brothers Main St. Service time will be 10am Saturday at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Tommy Howard with burial to follow in Lexington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Frankie would suggest contributions be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Dr., Lexington, KY 40504.
